The Call To Christian Unity
5th October, 2026
Description
In this episode of Green Pastures, we reflect on Philippians 2:2 and Paul’s powerful words: “Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”
What brought the Apostle Paul joy? It was more than seeing people gather in church, increase in number, or prosper materially. Paul’s joy was connected to the spiritual growth, love, and unity of believers. He desired to see the Christians he had invested in become increasingly mature in Christ and united in spirit and purpose.
This devotional examines the heart of spiritual leadership and reminds us that genuine Christian growth is revealed not only in what we know, but also in how we love and relate to one another. A church may be active with programs and activities while still struggling with division, jealousy, and selfish ambition.
As we consider Philippians 2:2, we are challenged to ask: Does our spiritual growth and love for one another bring joy to those who shepherd us?
Join us as we explore Christian unity, spiritual maturity, discipleship, godly leadership, and the call to live together in the love of Christ.

Description
In this episode of Green Pastures, we continue our study of Philippians 2:2 and explore Paul’s call for believers to be “of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”
What does true Christian unity mean? Paul is not calling believers to merely avoid conflict or agree on everything. He calls us to gospel-centered unity—a unity shaped by Christ, grounded in the truth of the gospel, and expressed through love, humility, service, and a shared purpose.
We explore four expressions of this unity: having the same mind, sharing the same love, being in full accord, and pursuing one common purpose. Christian unity does not require identical personalities or preferences. Instead, our commitment to Christ must be greater than our differences.
Discover how love, forgiveness, service, and fellowship in Christ enable believers to stand together and display the reconciling power of the gospel.
